Predeterminado Sugar Alcohol & # spikes

It is said that the benefit of sugar alcohol is that it does not spike your sugar levels. Well ironically after heavy testing the past 4 months but some how never testing 1, 2 & 3 hrs after eating these sugar free snacks since I usually eat them 2 or three hours after dinner & do not test again until morning. Well yesterday I happen to test 1,2 hrs after eating 4 sugar free wafers & to my surprise I was 176, after 1 hr 151 after 2 hrs. Before eating them I was 114.
Wow, well so much for that...Just wanted to toss that out here for others... Also would like to know your experiences & thoughts & if anyone knows of any benefit to such since preventing spikes don't seem to be one of them.
Heck if I am going to spike my numbers like that I may as well eat a real cookie. Also can't help but wonder if this is why I have had such a change in my last few months of bs results as that is about when I started eating these things
